The oceans cover more than 70% of the earth’s surface, and they are home to a diverse array of marine life. Unfortunately, human activities have had a significant impact on our oceans, and their health is in jeopardy. This is where organizations like PHILMEPA come in. Our mission is to promote sustainable practices and raise awareness about the impact of human activities on the environment.
At PHILMEPA, we believe that marine protection starts with education and awareness. We work to reach out to different institutions to help mitigate our growing problem of not understanding the effects of our individual or organizational actions towards our waters.
Our education and awareness programs aim to teach Filipinos about the current state of our waters and how we can reevaluate our use our marine resource. By increasing public awareness and understanding, we hope to inspire people to take action to protect our oceans.
Plans moving forward
Our programs include workshops, seminars, and outreach activities that aim to educate the public about the dangers of marine pollution and how they can help reduce their impact. Additionally, we also work with schools to develop curriculum materials that help students learn about environmental issues and how they can make a difference.
Our outreach efforts extend beyond the classroom as we also engage with local communities and organizations. We urge everyone to actively participate in beach cleanups, tree planting, and other initiatives that contribute to the protection of our environment.
